The term carousel refers to the scrolling images on the home page. You can add/edit carousel images, and text displayed on top of them, as follows:
- In the left hand menu, navigate to Website >> Public Web Pages
- Click on the pink "Car" button.
- To add a new slide click on “Add New".
- Please use "i" icons for guidance.
- To upload your slider images click on the paperclip icon on the toolbar.
- Click Save.
Guidance on slider images:
- Please look for a wide image to go across the homepage. The recommended dimensions for slider images are 1920 pixels width by 400 pixels height. For optimal display, please keep the pivotal information within the central 960 px width — that will ensure everything looks perfectly balanced across devices.
- If you are unable to match these exact dimensions, we recommend using at least 1300 pixels width by 400 pixels height to avoid having too much blank space surrounding the image.
- Each slider image can be accompanied/reinforced by short catchy message(s) as a call to actions for visitors. Enter these texts in the text box fields.
- The smaller the image size the faster the loading time. For this reason, do not ever upload images larger than 500 kilobytes.
Additional tips:
- Please remove the carousel images that came with your template in due course, as those were taken for initial illustration purposes only.
- If you would like to use a google image search to find a suitable photo for the carousel, please click on Tools >> Size >> Larger Than and filter images to the correct pixels as suggested above. Alternatively, hovering over each image will display the pixels for that particular image.
- Additionally, iStock, Adobe Stock and Pixabay are other online photography providers you may wish to use.
- If you use any imaging and photo editing software, please save for web and devices and compress the image somewhere around the 80% quality range.
- Please be aware that content uploaded to the website must be free of copyright or content for which course organizers hold the right to make available to the public.
