Please ensure that file names do not contain non-alphanumeric characters (for example: &, !, $, #, or %) before you upload any image to the website.
The recommended image formats for the web are JPG, GIF and PNG.
JPG
JPG is the most common image format used on the web. It boasts a small file size with very little noticeable quality loss. Use for Photographs.
PNG
PNG handles still images and transparency. PNG compression is optimized for graphical images and images that use less than 16 colors. However this will (in most cases) yield a large file size. Use for Graphical elements.
GIF
GIF is the choice for limited color images that need to be small in size. A unique feature of the GIF format is its ability to be animated. Use for simple animations, and graphics with flat colors or without gradients.
TIF
TIF is known as the highest quality image format. It is best used for commercial print work, and should NOT be used on the web. If you want to use an image in tif make sure to convert it as JPG.
Please Note: web page loading times must always be taken into consideration. Popular image formats such as tif or bmp are not recommended due to their gigantic file sizes that would cause a slow website. The smaller the image size the faster the loading time, and hence the better the user experience.
